Yesterday, we rode.

I’d say we owned the streets of Nashville, and at least one park. I know one biker grumpily asked us to keep it moving.

This ride was a learning experience for me. As is a lot with this site. I’ve never really tackled something this big by myself. A lot of it has kind of just come together. Some of it not so easily. On the outside everyone has been really nice about the time mixup this weekend, but I feel like I owe everyone a huge apology. I’m sorry. I wish I knew what happened. Anyway, now that we have that covered, I have a question for everyone – How do you folks consume information here?

This is important for me for many reasons. Firstly, contests. They happen from time to time. One just wrapped today. We had a pretty good response, but I’m not sure enough got the announcement. Second, ride announcements, and updates to those rides should uh… well… plans change. Where do scootnashvillians go for the info? Is it the blog, board, the twitter page or even the facebook page? Which if you aren’t consuming our lovely social byproduct, please sign up to do so now on all of those aforementioned sites, and sound off. Let me folks, lets continue to grow this to levels we can’t even perceive.

Tomorrow, we ride.

Our October ride is well… tomorrow. We are meeting up at East Side Scooters starting at 11 with kickstands up at 11:45 to head out to Lane Auto Museum. After that we will grab a quick bite to eat at The Local Taco, and wrap up our ride with a relaxed ride through the Warner park. This ride is 50cc friendly. I can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow!

If you feel like dressing up in costume, I won’t discourage ya at all.

And get on with sending me photos for the photo contest. I have 1 entry. I need no more than 2 photos of your bike, no photoshops. Sent to ross@scootnashville.com creativity wins on this one. Winner gets first dibs on a scootnashville t-shirt!

A quick video, and some reminders.

So uh, Microsoft has a swanky new phone, and they celebrate by making a commercial with what looks like downed P series. I guess we should just be excited about scooters in commercials.

Remember our next meetup is this Wednesday 10/27/2010 at Café Coco. From 7 to 9pm we will be hanging out, talking bikes, rides, and life in general. Come say hi, scooter or not.

Also, the October ride is Sunday, October 31st. It’s 50cc friendly and we will be back in enough time to hand out candy to the kiddies. Check this post for details!

How about a ride?

It’s time for another ride in Nashville. This one is 50cc friendly, so lets get everyone out!

Meet up at East Side Scooters at 11 am on Sunday October 31st. Be ready and gassed up to leave by 11:45. We will ride out to the Lane Motor Museum, admission is $7, possibly cheaper depending on how many we have show up. After that we will make our way to The Local Taco for some food and gas up again for a ride through Percy Warner Park.

We should be back with plenty of time to dole out candy in your neighborhood if you’re into that sort of thing.

Reminders!

Next meetup is tomorrow night at seven p.m. Cafe Coco on Louise St. That’s Wednesday, October 13.

Also, the next group ride will be Halloween Day. Final details will be posted soon.

Be safe, y’all.

Just a quick reminder…

Yes, it’s been two weeks since our last meet-up, but tomorrow is the first Wednesday of the month, so we will not be meeting until next Wednesday, 10/13/2010.

Hope to see you at Cafe Coco, next Wednesday!

New meetin’ up place?

Good morning, Nashville!

Chilly, ain’t it? I know — I just came back from a ride, and I didn’t have my gloves. Aw.

Okay — question! Do we want to change our meet up venue from Cafe Coco to some other place? If so, make your suggestions in a reply to this thread, and I’ll put up a poll over at KymCojones once we have a few suggestions.

Extra points for non-smoker friendliness and for VISIBILITY — hey, we want the public to see physical evidence that there is a scooter gang… and we’re not afraid to use it! Amirite? :)

Gettin’ down to business.

Im sure you folks without a doubt have noticed our awesome new banner and logo-age up top there. We have some pretty awesome members to thank for it.

First, @djhancock for not only coming up with the design, but making it work. and finally, @jprestonian for cooking up that lovely banner.

Secondly, It’s contest time. There are a few lucky souls sporting some scootnashville shirts, and you will have a chance to win one. The rules are simple on this one. Take pictures. Everyone likes to do that, right? Sure ya do. Of course there has to be a few rules.

  1. You can submit 2 photos.
  2. Each of these photos must include your scooter.
  3. You have until 11/1/2010 to submit your photos.
  4. The pictures need to be e-mailed to ross@scootnashville.com they need to include your photo, and your username.

That’s it folks! Get to snappin!

And finally, can we talk growth for a minute? This site was resurrected in late June. I would sit and watch my phone for every e-mail that came through and got excited for every new registration. Well… I still do that. Now we are up to 72 members and active ones at that. The rides that have happened since the relaunch are amazing. The site also gets tremendous traffic, in September we have over 8,000 pageviews. That folks, is awesome. I hope to see this continue to grow, and can’t wait to see where scootnashville heads next.

Also, please if you notice anything off with the site, have any ideas or comments, please contact me.
