Mardi Gras Parade Update
Saturday, March 5, 2011
We’ll meet up tomorrow to cover some of the ride safety basics, and to make sure everyone is fueled up, etc.
WHEN: 11:30 a.m., Sunday, 3/6
WHERE: Eastland Kroger parking lot, Gallatin Avenue (across from East Side Scooters)
As of 4:00 p.m. Saturday, I have not heard back from the parade organizer, so I did not have an opportunity to get more details about the parade route, and I do not know if we will have to pay to participate, so you might want to have a few dollars in your pocket, just in case. Ross thought not, but a few bucks might come in handy in case you need to mooch some balloons from Tara and Tanya, at any rate.
Going to be a bit chillier than we’d like, but so far, looks like the rain will stay away. Hope to see you there!
UPDATE to the Update, 9:00 p.m., Saturday, 3/5: The parade organizer called. NO FEE for being in the parade, says beads may be at a premium, as they’ve had outstanding interest in participants, so if you can bring something to fling, great! If not, no biggie. Still, after the parade, there will be beer and gumbo and other food available, so that few bucks might come in handy if you want to stay. If not, we might do a Percy Warner run, afterward.
